Lopatcong Township PTA

The November 2008 PTA Newsletter is available by clicking here.  Some parents were concerned about the newsletter being available on the Internet because at times it contains pictures with a child's name.  So, the newsletter .pdf (portable document format) file is now password protected.  The password is mentioned in the distributed printed version and is the same as the Middle School Media Center.  You can also get the password by sending an email message to lopatnewsletter@yahoo.com with your name, the name of your youngest child in the school district, and the name of their homeroom teacher.  Newsletters for previous months are available by clicking here.

This year the PTA is continuing to encourage the paperless distribution of its newsletter.  Parents will have two options in obtaining a paperless copy of the newsletter, which will be an Abode .pdf (portable document format) file.  If you don’t have Adobe Reader, it can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

First, it will be posted on both the school district (http://www.lopatcongschool.org) and PTA (http://www.lopatcong.org) websites.  On the school district website, click on “General Info & Links” button on the left and then on “PTA Newsletters & Info” in the middle of the screen.  On the PTA’s website clicking on the “PTA Newsletter” button on the left will take you to the latest version of the newsletter.

Second, the PTA is making the newsletter available by email.  To signup to receive it by email, send an email to PTA-News-subscribe@Lopatcong.org from the email address where you want to receive the newsletter.  You will receive an email in return asking you to confirm your subscription; if you don’t respond to the confirmation request, you will not be subscribed to the email list.  Please note that the newsletter size may be three or more Megabytes.  Some Internet providers may not allow the receipt of such a large email or the email may not be accepted because of a capacity limitation on your inbox.  Each email will include instructions on how you can remove yourself from the emailing list.

There are several benefits to receiving a paperless copy.  First, you will be able to read the newsletter before it is distributed in paper form.  Second, all the pictures and graphics will be in color.  Third, you don't need a password to view the emailed copy.  And, finally, you will be able to click on hotlinks in the newsletter to get additional information.  If you chose to receive a paperless copy of the newsletter, please send an email with your child’s name and homeroom to lopatnewsletter@yahoo.com If you are having trouble subscribing to the email list please send an email with the same information and to the same email address as mentioned in the previous sentence.

  • School Year Pictures

The approximately 600 pictures from the Day of the Arts and other PTA-sponsored events have been uploaded.  As an experiment we are using a picture database similar to those found on numerous photography websites.  Click here to see the photographs We would like to hear your comments on this new approach, click here to send an email message.

The PTA Events Section has pictures from this year's theater week production of "The Legend of Bully Jo" and Grandperson's Day.  Pictures from the 2006-2007 school year of the PTA's Night of the Arts, Family Game Night II (on April 20th), Day of the Arts, Grandparent's Day, The American Boychoir, and Theater Week are also available are in the PTA Events section.
